Hurry Up Summer!

In a couple of weeks it is crazy to think that we will be heading to our first pig show of the year. Going to a pig show is a little more laid back than a cattle show. We don’t have to get up as early and we don’t need as much equipment as we do with our cattle.

The weather is finally getting warmer and summer is coming soon. This also means school is coming to a close. I am ready to be home for the summer with family, friends, and my livestock.

Our spring cattle shows are officially over.  April was a busy month, with a cattle show on every weekend. We traveled all over and had many long days. I was very fortunate to have such a successful preview season and I am excited to see what’s to come this summer!

Show Cattle Mode

April marks the month of show cattle busyness! Every weekend in April we have a different cattle show in a different location.

This past weekend was filled with a birthday party, family, friends, and a cattle show. Not having class on Fridays in the Spring semester is very helpful to me for coming home for important events and taking care of my cattle to get ready for a show.

Our cattle show this past weekend was in Nevada, Missouri which happens to be about an hour and a half from school, so I was able to leave from there to school and start a new week.

We left the house at 4:30 in order to make it to Nevada on time and wash and get our cattle ready for the show. This was a very long day of showing and when we were packing up and getting ready to leave it started pouring rain. During this it also started hailing, which slowed us down about 30 minutes to let the storm pass enough for us to load up.

The next 3 shows coming up in April are going to be exciting. I am helping planning 2 of these 3 and it is going to be busy so stay tuned!
