Showing for a Cure

This past weekend we traveled to Chillicothe, MO for a cattle show, knowing that there was a high chance of snow. This didn’t scare us one bit. The temperatures were chilly and it was quite windy.

This particular cattle show, Showing for a Cure, was much different than the rest because of the cause. All of the proceeds went to the cost to help fight cancer and crohn’s disease.

On Friday night a 5k run/walk took place, the show on Saturday, and a concert following on Saturday night. All of these events were to generate people to coming to such a significant event to raise money for an excellent cause through agriculture.

Being able to take part in this event, and to help out finding a cure for cancer was very important to me. Recently having a family member diagnosed with cancer was a scary thought to me and having so many emotions running through my head at one time. I have personally seen the effects of what this terrible disease can do to individuals and I put my first foot forward and helped raised money for cancer research and crohn’s while making memories at a cattle show!
